The Greater Farmington Founders Festival 2016

From classic rock ‘n ‘roll to fine cuisine, the Greater Farmington Founders Festival is the can’t-miss event! This year the founder festival runs from Thursday, July 14 thru Sunday, July 17 2016 in downtown Farmington.

A favorite in Southeast Michigan, the Farmington Founders Festival began as a tribute to the city’s unique Quaker heritage that thousands of people now know as a four-day weekend celebration.

Entrance is $5.00 per person, payable at the door. Children under eight are free.

Does your dog have what it take to be a therapy dog?
Come out and visit the Dr Paws Therapy Dogs dogs in Memorial Park and see if your dog has what it takes to visit hospitals, nursing homes, Read to Rover programs at the libraries, and much, much more. It’s a great way to volunteer and give back with your dog and your family.
You can bring your dog if it is one year of age and older to be evaluated by this nonprofit organization. We are looking for dogs with basic obedience training. If you prefer to just come out for the information you can attend and pick up a testing packet

A mini farm festival complete with a petting zoo, pony rides, face paintings, and balloon animals. Police cars and fire trucks will be onsite for children to climb in and explore. $7 per child

Governor Warner Mansion Activities
Watch for the Warnerettes Parasol Drill Team in the Founders Festival parade on Saturday morning, with their twirling black umbrellas and snappy routines.

Flea Market 10:00am-5:00pm

After the parade, stop by the Mansion to browse a wide selection of previously-loved antiques and collectibles and pick up a Farmington souvenir at the Warner General Store.

Two live concerts in the gazebo:
Peace Jubilee Civil War Band at 1:30pm
Farmington Community Band ensemble at 3:30pm.

The air-conditioned Mansion will be open for guided tours both Friday and Saturday: $3 for adults, $1 for children ages 7-12. Costumed docents will be waiting to show you the life and times of Fred Warner and what it was like to live 100 years ago in what was then Farmington’s finest residence.
